Upkeep and
Care
Maintaining the railway track,
locomotives and carriages is almost a full time job for our
dedicated team of volunteers. Locomotives and carriages are
subject to regular inspections and maintenance in order to
comply with national regulations. Our track manager walks the
entire circuit at least every two weeks, and the locomotives
and every carriage are inspected from top to bottom over the
inspection pit every three
months.

The
track team replace the bolts on a joint near Esplanade
Station.

Temporarily
bereft of its wheels, Carriage G undergoes regular inspection
and maintenance over the service pit inside the depot
shed.

The
DXC stands over the service
pit.

The
work wagons are not forgotten. The ballast hopper is supported
by sleepers while one of its bogies is
serviced.
